In Armenia, conditions such as poor housing and families in difficult situations are factors that lead to higher rates of domestic violence. According to the Chairperson Sanan Shirinian of the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), men in low-income families are more likely to batter their partners than those who earn more. Women who live in poverty are more likely to suffer domestic abuse than those in wealthier families.
